our travel tales: Paris Dec 2006

From Lymington (7am train, reached London about noon, and very lorat-lorat pushing and pulling our many bags from one end of waterloo station to the other end to catch Eurostar 2pm), we went to Paris naik Eurostar - and went under the English Channel. The journey was about 3 hours. Bekal makan also - nasi goreng from lymington while on the train). Very smooth ride. And reached Paris - Gare Du Nord - around 5 pm - being winter time - it was already dark. And cold 9-11C) Gare Du Nord - just arrived

Just arrived. Eurostar is fast, and quiet

La Baguette near our hotel - Hotel Jerry - booked through http://www.venere.com/. Many muslim food outlets around here. And this place is very near the metro also. very convenient.

Following morning, On the bridge overlooking River Seine

Left is where we get off the metro. To the left of this buidling is the Eiffel Tower already. So pic below.

We went up to floor 2. See the fares!!! the queue was very long. It would take another hour to queue up to go to the 3rd level. Yes, you need to go to floor 2, wait for your turn to go to floor 3. ARZ did not go up. He waited for us down below.

Nabil was so hungry - he did not enjoy himself - we have to go back to jerry hotel - whereby muslim food was available.

Louvre Musee - (Louvre museum) where they keep 'Mona Lisa' . We are not allowed to photograph mona lisa though which is - the only painting yg - kept behind bulle

Dah gelap. Being winter and all, sunset is very early - about 5pm.

The Louvre is so big - cannot see everything within 3 hours ...

Notre Dame - early morning - before going to Disneyland

Fadhil said it looked exactly - outside and inside - like the "hunchback of Notre Dame"

Went to Paris disneyland. Very cold - about 9 degrees. Only the kids go into the park!!!!

ARZ and I went back to pairs - jalan2 and do a bit of shopping - mahal. ANyway, both of us dah masuk Disneyland banyak kali da - so bagi can pulak la!!! The tickets were bought at London Waterloo - so ada discount a bit ...

About 6pm, ARZ and I went back to Disneyland - waited for the kids at the gate. Disney closed at 7. We waited and waited - with rising panic - for them to emerge. Finally around 8pm baru keluar - they said - they could not leave the place - still too much to see ... well - too bad! Following (7am - which is still very very dark and cold) ) morning have to go the airport because of the early flight.
